Making your own beaed jewellery
Creating you own beaded jewellery
Creating your own jewellery can be satisfying and can be done at any age. Any materials can be used, wooden beads, glass beads, silver, semi-precious stones and anything that takes your fancy. All objects are versatile and with a little imagination can be transformed into a wearable piece of jewellery.
When starting out it's useful to research into other jewellery makers to see what has already been created. This is to get inspiration to realise the endless possibilities that jewellery making can provide. Beaded jewellery may appear to be an easy task but it takes a lot of practice to achieve the right designs and to gain the technical skills that are needed to be successful in creating pieces.
It is easy for people to become demotivated and for them to give up whilst learning the skills that are required but once you get the hang of it it is very satisfying.
What do you need to make jewellery?
it is important that you allow yourself a working space and have the right equipment and materials to make the jewellery, for example beads, silver, links, thong, string, elastic.
It's helpful to lay the beads out before you start to thread them or attatch them to anything.
Making your own beaded jewellery can be relaxing and satisfying. It also means that you can create a piece of jewellery that is completely unique to you. you can choose you own beads and arrange them how you want them.
